Everyone who knows me in real life would have realized by now that I have a penchant for stuff from the olden days, be it stories, songs, artistes, movies, shows, and recently, comedy.
Talk early comedy, and people think about Charlie Chaplin immediately. And then, there is Monty Python. Of course there are many more, but I give them special attention and credit, for they can be compared to the Beatles, for the Beatles revolutionized music, while Monty Python did the same to comedy. This fantastic group was united by chance for a television, and they subsequently went on to found Monty Python's Flying Circus.
But why exactly am I talking about them? Simple.
I have a dream. That one day, myself and a few other people, might found a group and hopefully, we will be able to make a mark in comedy, hopefully as how the Python's did. It might not come true, and most likely won't anyway, but I really do hope it could come true.
Lets take Pebblefort, for example. You see, we have already banded together, and we all have that creative spark in all of us. I suggest, as I had been suggesting many times prior to this post, that we get together in the holidays or whenever we are not harassed by work, and we write scripts, and hopefully, film them. Who knows, maybe some higher-up in the entertainment industry might take note of us, and we could go down in history books, as more than average joes.

Involving people in the creative process (that is in simple terms, deciding what happens in a story) opens up a can of worms.
Writing scripts together sounds difficult. For one, a creative crew needs to be made up of people with a common vision, not a bunch of friends.
I dunno mang. Not so enthusiastic about doing comedy with the rest of you.
However, _Zephyre_ (the creator of the Pistol Ninja Trilogy, and my buddeh) and me will need voice actors for his/her machinima movie (and maybe my own). It's going to be GunZ machinima, but me and Zeph are moving away from cheesy cartoons these days. I was gonna extend this invitation to all of you at some point in the future, but the fact is that I have no details on the project - me and Zeph are both busy studying for big exams.
Machinima is the was to go these days. Much much easier and more space for development. Now if only I can find my entry for a machinima competition two years ago..
Machinima has its good and bad points.
bet ur machinima sucks, panzerz
i for one have a prejudice against machinima. partly because i see lots of crap on the itnernet, and once when i tried to make one, my com crashed. DON'T. LAUGH.
as for voice acting, sure. i can offer my voice, panzerz's, and maybe even sanky. we have experience. LOL.
but for scriptwriting, the Python's actually broke up into groups of their own (3, 2 pairs and 1 single person) to write and then they would come together and discuss and sort out the funny bits from the lame ones.
we could do that. i mean, if one of us has a sudden outburst of creativity and humour, we could record it down, and one day (hopefully) we could make it come to life.
laugh all you want. not everyone has the liberty of asking their parents' for new stuff whenever one feels like it.
but really. machinima offers a really small scope of things you can do. yes, of course this would place unequivocal focus on the quality of the script, but even the best scripts can get ruined by shitty acting/props/etc.
not that i am against it, its just a personal opinion. i just feel that machinima is unable to fully bring out the script even if you spend your entire youth on it.
"even the best scripts can get ruined" here's your million dollar line. We're complete ameteurs and the last thing we want to happpen is to fail...on the internet. It is true the emotions are unable to be fully expressed. Thats where musical accompliment comes in ;)
IMHO.
so you are scared of failure huh. seems like our great education system and its money-driven external vendors yakking on and on about confidence and motivation has failed you.
anyway, we could always do podcasts..
regardless, main point i would like to stress is, let us not just stick to text. be it a video, a sound clip, a machinima, whatever, lets do it.
The truth is that I'm not sure that we can gel on creative projects. Yeah, I'm scared of failure.
Also, I don't see the allure of podcasts. Text does fine (or that could be stage fright talking).
Once again: If I do a collaborative work, I would really prefer to do it for professional reasons (such as the creative people having a common vision and thus coming together) than for personal reasons (coming together for the sake of friendship, relationship, etc.).
You want to get me to do a serious project with you I think you're going to have to sell it to me just like you would sell it to any other literary genius (ego alert) on the street. But that's just me. Me.
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
YOOOOOOOUUUUUUU.
=P
